Meet Our Gentle Staff
I graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1982 and The Children’s Memorial HospitaI Residency Program two years later after serving as Chief Pediatric Resident. Having been a specialist now for 28 years, I feel truly blessed to have been able to fulfill my lifelong dream of making a difference in the lives of children on a daily basis. I constantly strive to perform the highest standard of care for my patients and my intent is that all professional care delivered at my office will be safe, comfortable and highly esthetic for each and every patient.
I try to obtain cooperation from children with humor, friendliness, persuasion, gentleness, silliness, kindness, empathy, understanding and most of all compassion. (I have been known, however to pass out 5 dollar bill when none of the aforementioned seems to work.)
I believe that it’s all about a gentle experience, keeping the focus on the child while you show them how much you care.
I always aspire for the highest levels of clinical excellence and love all aspects of dentistry. I continually incorporate the latest technology and scientific advancements into preventative and restorative dental care for my patients. I particularly enjoy working with the special needs and medically compromised individuals as many of them are seen well into adulthood. I attend numerous local and national dental conferences on current topics and advances in field of Pediatric Dentistry and also visit the local schools to educate children on proper oral hygiene, diet, and doing well in class. In addition, I am active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, The American Dental Association, California Dental Association, the Sacramento District Dental Society and have been a member of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce for 24 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed working closely with Dr.Knight as a colleague, friend and associate. He will be a huge part of this community for years to come.
I have 3 three amazing children– Mitchell, Teagan, and Hunter. I enjoy spending the majority of my free time with family and their various activities, preoccupations and school functions. I also enjoy traveling with the kids, exercising, water sports, snowboarding, riding street bikes and my dog, Marley…
I look forward to getting to know you and your children and welcome you to our practice
Since 2005 it’s been my goal to make every dental experience fun and rewarding. The children who come to my office are not just patients, but individuals with unique needs and views on the world around them. I utilize their natural curiosity to teach them about oral health. By doing this, I have won the trust and friendship of hundreds of children and parents.
As the father of 3 children, I understand the needs of not only the children, but the family as a whole. Whether it be a simple consultation to answer your questions, or responding to after hour emergencies, I feel that it is important to be available for my patients.
I have made it a point to meet and surpass all standards of knowledge required to practice dentistry on children. I graduated in the top of my class at the University or California, San Francisco (UCSF) receiving my DDS degree in 2002. Then, realizing my true passion to work with kids, I completed a three year residency program to become certified as a pediatric dentist. During this time, I completed a masters degree in oral-facial sciences. Even now, I am committed to stay current on new research and products to assure that our patients receive the best and safest treatment available.
Together with Dr. Seman, it is our goal to make dentistry memorable and fun. It’s no wonder that this office has made such a positive impact on the community. Come by and see for yourself.
I can honestly say that I enjoy my job! Working in the front office at Dr. David Seman’s Pediatric Dental Group gives me the opportunity to combine my craving for working with intricate numbers and insurance situations with my inner social butterfly. One minute I’m sorting through a complicated insurance claim, and the next I’m crawling around in the movie room with one of our energetic patients.
The greatest reward for me is when I can help a parent utilize their insurance to it’s maximum potential for the purpose of providing the best care possible to their little ones. Dr. Seman and Dr. Knight instill such confidence in their abilities, it is easy for me to assure our patients and parents that they are in good hands. Between the two of them, I can honestly say that I believe that the children in our practice are under the best care possible. My husband and I are preparing to invite our first child into the world, and it is without a doubt that I will whole-heartedly trust him to the skills of this office when it is time for his own dental journey.
I have worked for Dr. Semans Pediatric Dental Group since 2006. Working in a fun, knowledgeable, and professional environment makes me excited about coming in everyday. As part of the front office team, I get to give impeccable customer service to our patients by listening to their needs.
The most rewarding part of working for Dr. Seman and Dr. Knight is watching the children arrive for their appointment excited to be here. They feel comfortable and safe in our office. I love taking a call from a former patient that is all grown up and now has a little one of their own. The memories they share with me are a fabulous reminder why I am proud to work in such a wonderful and caring office.
I have two children on my own. Jacey is 9 and Cash is 1½ years old. Jacey is involved with Girls Scouts and loves outdoor activities. Cash is a busy one year old that is learning new things every day. As a family, we enjoy outings such as Fairytale Town and the Zoo. We also enjoy exploring tide pools in Monterey and the beautiful lake in Tahoe. Needless to say my children are patients here and always look forward to their next dental appointment. I am grateful that my children are not fearful of the dentist but instead excited about their visits and understand the importance of regular dental checkups. This is a gift I am proud to have given my children.
I love working in an office where the kids come running through the front door, excited to be here for their dental appointment! They of course head straight for our movie room to see what’s playing that day. Dr. Seman, Dr. Knight, and the assistants are so amazing with the kids, it’s no wonder they love coming here. They all show a genuine interest and concern for every patient, having great conversations with every child, and their parents. Their gentleness and patience with all the children, especially with special needs children, and the very young and scared children, is amazing to watch. Parents love them as much as the kids do!
I enjoy my job in the front office, greeting the kids and parents as they come through the door. I love working closely with the parents to insure that we meet their needs with scheduling appointments, assisting them with their insurance and billing questions, and with any other concerns they may have.
When I’m not working, I enjoy sewing, camping, kayaking, scuba-diving, and spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren.
I’ve been married for 8 years and have a 2 yr old daughter. I have been working for Dr. Seman as an RDA for nearly 13 yrs. I think few people can say that they enjoy their job …well, I do. Sometimes it feels like I spend more time at work than I do at home. That being said, for work to be enjoyable you must enjoy the company of those you work with…my coworkers are great quality people who strive to do the best job they can everyday.
To enjoy your job you must also like what you do…I love working with the children. It keeps it fun and each day is different. I take pride in my work and want each person who comes into the office to have a great experience. The most rewarding part of my job comes with helping nervous, little ones. “Tell, show, do is the method of choice. They come in possibly crying….and leave smiling and happy.
I can honestly say that I love my job! I get to combine my love of children with my passion for dentistry. I love going to work each day because I know I get to have fun working with wonderful doctors and amazing kids. Before I became a Registered Dental Assistant for Dr. Seman I started as his patient at 1 year old. The best part about my job is getting to interact with the children. I love teaching them about oral hygiene in a fun interactive environment. The kids have a great experience and enjoy coming to the dentist.
Dr. Seman and Dr. Knight are very compassionate and patient which puts the children at ease. Our little patients are better patients than most adults. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my adorable nieces as well as being outdoors camping, fishing and relaxing with my friends and family.
I have 34 years of Dental experience and love what I do! Going to work with a great, confident dental team that loves children and want them to have the best dental experience possible is vital to me. I am a mother and grandmother of two precious granddaughters. I understand the worries and concerns of a parent and what a gift our kids are to us.
Dr Seman and Dr Knight are both gentle, caring people that love kids and have high standards in the field of dentistry and life. I chose to work for individuals that I felt comfortable referring my family, friends and their kids to. Our office is very professional and we have state of the art equipment and utilize the most current restorative techniques. This environment of knowledgeable staff and a positive attitude will benefit your little darlings.
